From the moment you start tidying, you will be compelled to reset your life. As a result, your life will start to change. That’s why the task of putting your house in order should be done quickly. It allows you to confront the issues that are really important. Tidying is just a tool, not the final destination. The true goal should be to establish the lifestyle you want most once your house has been put in order.

   My Story

I wasn't always tidy.

Growing up in an immigrant family with a deep-seated "we might need it one day" mentality towards their possessions, I was incredibly messy and disorganized. After multiple moves across states and even countries during college and grad school, I realized how little I really needed and how much my belongings were literally weighing me down. Many boxes were never even unpacked during semesters or after journeys across state lines.

My mess was overwhelming and needed to be addressed. I finally discovered the guidance and tangible techniques of Marie Kondo. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy held the keys to the tidied home and life I had always aspired to.

Since my attachments to things were largely emotional, a lot of my journey involved slowly learning to be ok with letting go of things (apartments, relationships, possessions, etc.). This allowed me the emotional and physical room to invite joyful ones into my life.

Tidying and coaching quickly became a passion, and I have spent the past several years becoming an expert in the method so I can share this magic.

The KonMari Method™ goes deeper than folding T-shirts. It has the potential to change your life the way it did mine. We all have a story that brought us here, and I'm looking forward to hearing yours.

Your questions made all the difference. I feel peace and joy seeing my books now, rather than shame. Your help separating *my* feelings from *others’* judgments has given me so much freedom. Now, I’m proud and excited to find a beautiful way to display my collection. Thank you, Hank. I didn’t know I could be this happy about my home.

This new lifestyle feels like cheating. I look in my closet every day and I’m like, “what should I wear?” Everything is easy. Things are so easy to move around, easy to clean...
— Emily
This experience felt like a sort of clutter/ detox rehab with therapy and some grounding ( I am very A.D.D. and he kindly got me centered). Subconscious and the ego are strong- especially when it comes to letting go, he did not let me avoid the difficult questions I had to face. Tidying, really is a muscle that becomes developed and it is okay that it does not come natural to me, because Hank helped me forge a path to understanding. It feels so free and airy and giddy to open my home, it makes me feel like dancing. I get excited opening my closet and drawers!

You know what this tidying process has done for me? I feel like this weight was lifted off my back, and I’m feeling more creative and inspired. I feel like through this process, I’m realizing which hobbies are important to me and i am prioritizing them.

Tidying with Hank, especially cards and other sentimental items, made me realize how loved I was. I shed happy tears while tidying and reached out to former friends I had lost touch with to reminisce.
